The short version
- The September 2026 Research and Markets report sizes sound healing apps at $279.9 million this year and $558.4 million by 2032, a 12.1% annual growth rate.
- The vendor’s earlier edition of the same report put the same years at $122.3 million and $246.2 million, more than a twofold gap.
- Across vendors, “sound therapy” market estimates run $2.7 billion to $3.2 billion, which tells you the category has no agreed definition.
A September report from Research and Markets, “Sound Healing App Market, Global Forecast 2026–2032,” sizes the category at $279.9 million this year and $558.4 million in 2032, a 12.1% compound annual growth rate. The named players are Calm, Headspace, Aura, Endel, Brain.fm and Sleep Cycle.
The same vendor’s earlier edition of the same report put 2026 at $122.3 million and 2032 at $246.2 million. Nothing in the market doubled between editions. The definition did, or the method did, and the report does not say which. Step back further and the confusion widens: across vendors, estimates for the broader “sound therapy” or “sound healing” market run from $2.7 billion to $3.2 billion, a spread that depends entirely on whether a meditation app, a white-noise machine or a singing-bowl retreat counts as the same thing.
These reports are sold mainly to the companies they describe, and their figures tend to resurface in funding announcements and press releases without the caveats. A 12.1% growth rate sounds precise; it is a model output built on a market size the modeler has already revised by a factor of two.
When a headline says the sound healing market is “worth” a figure, the honest translation is “one vendor’s model says,” and this vendor’s two models differ by double.
